ΘΞ- Alpha Epsilon Chapter .::. University of Nebraska- Lincoln
Academic success naturally plays a large role in the college experience, and consequently it should not be left out of fraternity life. Our house's GPA tends to stand well above the All-Male and All-Greek averages at the University of Nebraska campus. All freshmen members are required to attend study hours throughout the week to help them become familiar with the new atmosphere and establish their GPAs.
The study hours are monitored by our Scholarship Chair, Gill Wright. Study hours usually take place in our new renovated study, which is an excellent environment for academic achievement. The study consists of a library of text books, four individual study cubicles with computers, color printing capabilities, former test files, and space for everyone to study comfortably and efficiently.
In order to encourage exceptional academics, we only initiate those Associates that receive above a 2.75 GPA and actively recruit those who have high scholastic records. Furthermore, to encourage high academic standards, we offer a scholarship towards any member who exceeds a 3.0 GPA. For each ".1" above a 3.0 GPA, members receive $100 from our Association Scholarship Fund. In other words, if you get a 3.5 GPA two semesters in a row, you'd receive $500 each semester for a check totaling $1000 at the end of the year.
